An MCP client — an AI assistant such as Claude Code — asks to read your Norboten progress, attempts and ratings. Sign in here to see who is asking. Allowing it gives that client a token for Norboten's MCP server only, for an hour at a time; it cannot change anything, and the rest of the API does not accept it.
The account service cannot be reached from here right now.
Norboten signs you in with GitHub and nothing else — no password and no
email. GitHub tells us your GitHub user id and login, once; the token that carried them is
revoked straight away and never stored. Your first sign-in makes your account, and your
public profile links to your GitHub account.

No GitHub account? It is free, and it is the only way in for now — the labs, theory and journals never need one.
A client
The nick is chosen once; the country can be changed later. Both start from a guess — your GitHub login, and the country your address is in, looked up on our own server — and nothing is saved until you claim it.
The weekly digest is a Discord direct message from the Norboten bot: on Sunday evening, what you attempted, what your ratings did and the topic to work on next. Nothing is sent in a week you did nothing, and nothing at all until you turn it on.

Everything goes at once: the profile and its nick, every attempt and rating, the recordings your Play sessions left, and the GitHub and Discord links. Nothing is kept, nothing can be restored, and the nick becomes free for someone else. The labs on your own machine are untouched — they never needed an account. How long backups keep a copy.
